Kerala: Crop RUX Relief is likely in 30 days

Thiruvananthapuram: Agriculture Minister P Prasad has instructed officials to remove farmer applications that seek compensation for plant losses due to recent rain in 30 days.
During a high-level meeting chaired by the Minister, he said the delayed application had to be cleaned on November 10, and the application was fresh in 30 days.
The main assessment has pegged the loss of plants in the state at Rs 200 Crore.
While farmers who have insured their plants will receive the amount of insurance and compensation from the state disaster management authority (SDMA), those who come out of the insurance cover will only receive the compensation for the state government.
The minister said the official who did not comply with the time frame to process the application must face action.
The government also distributes free rice seeds and provides assistance to build broken bunds.
Until now, the 26 bunds have been damaged in Alapapuzha and 11 in Kottayam.
The Ministry of Agriculture has established a control room, the Minister said.
The minister urges farmers to inform the loss of their plants to Krishi Bhavans each and submit compensation through the portal set for this purpose.
They can register from the Akshaya Center, and a general facilitation center too.
Those who have insured their plants must apply within 15 days after the loss and those who have not been insured, must apply within 10 days, the Minister said.
