ThiruvananThapuram: With a test level of testing more than 30% and active cases once again crossing the Lakh sign, the country witnessed a rapid surge in the Covid-19 case.
The country crossed the active case of lakh after three months when on October 11, the state witnessed the lakh sign (1,01,419).
On Sunday, active cases have become 1,03,864.
Quick deployment in cases is being reported in Thiruvananthapuram and Ernakulam where active cases are 20,665 and 20,554 respectively.
TPR in these districts has also exceeded 30%, thus requiring district administration to impose severe restrictions.
According to the report, there are at least 18 institutional clusters in Thiruvananthapuram and 11 in Ernakulam.
In Thiruvananthapuram, half a dozen health institutions, including government and private hospitals have become clusters.
Likewise, some educational institutions in Ernakulam have become clusters.
District administration of these two districts has truly prohibited all types of meetings, including religious functions in places of worship.
Only funerals and marriages are permitted with maximum participation of 50 people.
In the past week, 20,345 cases were reported in Thiruvananthapuram, and 13,916 cases in Ernakulam.
Kozhikode with 7,755 cases and thrissur with 6915 are two other districts who also witnessed the big spread in the case.
On Sunday 9-15 January, the number of active cases on average in the country is 57,644.
When compared to the previous week, there has been a 51,712 increase in new cases in the state.
There was a 174% increase in new cases reported compared to the previous week.
The average level of testing test in the last seven days was 16.5%, which now rose above 30%.
The Ministry of Health has issued a warning in all districts with a large surge in the case.
