Kerala: Department of Higher Education to Promote Digital LMS in Colleges

Thiruvananthapuram: The Ministry of Higher Education is in the mission to spin on the Covid-19 pandemic which destroys to rearrange the way academic transactions and evaluation of students and teachers take place at higher education institutions in the state.
As the first step to deliver changes in this sector, the government has made decisions on the principle to encourage the use of computer-based learning management systems (LMS) in all higher education institutions.
At least 300 universities, regardless of the assisted government / helpers, will soon be given access to a computer-based learning system that is expected to prevent the adverse effects of the learning system to hit the academic discourse.
“If we really want to overcome the quality erosion in the higher education sector, we need to explore the possibility of technology learning mechanisms.
We have started working on strategies in consultation with several other government organizations and institutions.

The Minister on Friday held talks with an expert panel on how to continue the initiative.
The source said the High Education Board had agreed to advance the initiative to make customized LMS available for at least 300 certain universities based on pilots.
It will also improve the teacher training process to help the college faculty / university to learn how to use digital media for student mentoring.
