Kerala Film Awards: Two Showstoppers & Break the Myth of the Indian Wife Yang Submissive

Thiruvananthapuram: ‘The Great Indian Kitchen’, Jeo Baby’s Movie who challenges Indian women’s stereotypes with obediently bound by Domestic Dredory, won the country award for the best films.
The film, which was released on OTT, a surprising sensitivity with the depiction of incessant grinding duties was often forced to stay in the middle class kitchen.
The 51st country film award was declared by the Minister of Film and Culture Cherian on Saturday.
The jury headed by actor Suhasini argued that this film made a strong and complicated presentation of the dominance of men who were silent, apparently not violent but mercilessly through a woman’s daily experience.
Still from the great Indian Kitchensuhasini, chairman of the jury, said that the best film choices were round and deliberations lasted for about six hours.
Forging a film for his narrative, he said that democracy must begin at home.
Nimisha just, who played the main role in the film, however, lost to Anna Ben in a race for the best actress.
While the film was very praised because of his treatment for the intense picture of Nimisha about the main character, Suhasini said that Nimisha was one of the competitors for the best actress award.
Jayasurya ‘Murali’ character was taken from real life in the film ‘Vellam’ pocketed him the best actor award for the second time.
The jury praised Jayasury because of its convenience in capturing the ups and downs of a young man who was trapped in alcoholism.
Anna Ben won the award for the best actress for the film ‘Kappela’.
“This award is towards its superiority in uncovering the thinking of a girl who must bear the difficulty in life through her body language and a complicated expression,” the jury said.
Suhasini added that Anna issued a transformation from losing innocence to learn reality.
Sidhartha Siva won the award for the best director for the film ‘Ennivar’.
Suhasini said that the fact that 80 films were considered for awards even though the pandemic brought havoc by 2020 was a testimony of artistic output.
“This is the time of testing, especially for players.
Technicians have suffered greatly.
Only during disasters, artists think differently.
When life is peaceful, there is no story.
The quality of the film is very good,” said Suhasini.
The minister said that the award-distribution ceremony was likely to be held in December.
