Thiruvananthapuram: The State State Government has decided to relax the Locking Regulation this weekend after the Bakrid festival which falls on July 21.
There will be relaxation in the total locking rules on July 18, and 20 on local bodies that fall below.
, B and C categories based on the test level of test.
Shops other than those who sell important items will be permitted to function up to 8 nights on these three days.
These include textile shops, foot shops, electronics stores, luxury shops and jewelry stores.
The decision was taken after Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan met with Representative Kerala Vyapari Vyavasayi Ekopani Samithi (Kvves) after traders challenged the government that they would open shops on Saturday and Sunday.
Today, shops, except restaurants and those who sell important items are only allowed to open on alternative days in category A, B and C.
The traders have protested this and have challenged the government that they will open all shops all day.
The challenges of traders have resulted in a bitter face between the government and traders with the minister’s chairman warned them of the terrible consequences if they did it.
