Kerala Govt canceled the tree logging order; Panel to decide on water disputes

Thiruvananthapuram: After that snowballed became a large controversy with opposition targeting the minister’s own head, the cabinet on Wednesday decided to cancel the order that allowed Tamil Nadu to fall near the baby dam in Mullasiyar.

The cabinet observed that the application sent by Tamil Nadu did not comply with the permission distance set by the center.
A written statement delivered by the State at the Supreme Court on January 22 has noted that the logging of trees at the location needed permission from the Ministry of Environment and Forest and the Committee of the National Wildlife Council.
Also, the state of the state government business wants all the interstate things to consider by the cabinet.
The cabinet also decided to form a three-level committee to make decisions about the Interstate river water dispute.
This will consist of the strategic board of the River Interstate water, the monitoring and technical cell and cell committee.
This will be an additional River Interstate Advisory Committee.
Minister of Minister and Water Resources each will be the chairman and deputy chairman of each of the strategic councils.
The monitoring panel to be led by the Head of Secythe forces, forests and wildlife will be a member other than four MLA and two members of parliament in the field of water projects concerned, the secretary of the head and secretary (water resources).
The Committee will take policy decisions on the issue of River Interstate water and take the necessary steps to carry out related cases in court and the Supreme Court.
The monitoring committee will be led by the Temporary Secretary of the Secretary of Water Resources, Power, Forests and Wildlife, Agriculture and the Legal Department, Chair of the KSEB and Chief Engineer of the Interstate River Material will be a member.
Legal and technical cells will support two other committees.
