Thiruvananthapuram: A total of 1,451 murders were reported in the state of May 25, 2016, until December 31, 2020.
Of these, 27 murders were political murder, according to the record presented by the government in the Assembly.
In response to the question by MLA Anwar Sadath in January this year, Chairman of the Pinarayaya Minister Vijayan said that 27 murders occurred at 24 incidents.
But at the same time, the government has chosen to avoid questions about the political affiliates of the victims and the perpetrators.
Another question regarding political murder in the state during the term of Pinarayi Vijayan-LED Government LDF requested by Sulthan Bathery MLA I C Balakrishnan six months unanswered.
Three questions were asked as a question that was not released on June 7 this year – how many political murders took place in the state of May 25, 2016, until May 3, 2021 in the state, the political affiliation of the victims and the culprit in each case, and How many cases of court say the verdict.
However, the three questions remained missed.
“More than six months have passed since the question of further details of political murder was raised by me in the Assembly.
There is no answer provided by the Minister’s Chairperson.
The next step is to issue a notification to the speaker for violations of privileges because it is the right of members to receive the upper answer The question asked by them, in the specified time frame, “said Balakrishnnan.
Usually, questions are accepted by the legislative secretariat from MLAS 10 days before the assembly session begins.
This was then sent to the relevant administrative department at the Secretariat and then forwarded to the Department of Field to gather information.
Because the information delivered as an answer in assembly must be appropriate, in many cases, information must be charged from several departments that might take time, leading to an uncontrolled delay in returning answers.
The answer to questions about political murder can be easily available from the police department because the case records are well maintained at each police station.
“It has insisted that the delayed answers must be submitted together with the statement of delay in assembly in the same session, or no later than the first day of the next session.
Even this period is not fulfilled in some cases,” said sources at the legislative secretariat.
