Kerala Govt Ready to Climb Personal Bus Rates: Transport Minister

Thiruvananthapuram: The state government has decided to increase private bus rates in the state, the Minister of Transportation Antony Raju said on Saturday after holding a discussion with the representative of the bus owner.
The government has refused the demand for the bus owner to climb the minimum tariff, currently at Rs 8, until Rs 12.
Raju said even though the government had decided to increase bus rates after the increase in fuel accusations, a decision.
At how many fares that must be increased will only be taken after more discussion.
“The government has supported the view of the bus owner that the cost must be increased due to the current situation.
However, the government is also committed to alleviating the tax burden on ordinary people.
Therefore, it has been decided to discuss with the commission of Rajendran justice to complete tariff increases,” Minister said.
He said the final decision would be taken without delay, adding that the talks would continue with the owner of the bus on other demands made by them.
The three member sub-committees have been formed to see the problems raised by them.
The owner of a private bus demands that the per kilometer level must be increased to Re 1 of Paise 90 today.
They also demand that tariffs for students must be increased to RS 6 of Re 1.
Concession must be 50% of the actual ticket rates, they say.
The operator also wants road taxes charged until the pandemic ends.
The government has ignored taxes for the first quarter and has extended the time to send taxes for the second quarter until December 31.
