ThiruvananThapuram: Covid-19 restrictions that will be imposed on the Panchayat or City / Corporate wards tend to be based on the ratio of weekly infection populations (IPR) rather than the next testicivity ratio (TPR).
A meeting chaired by Pinarayi Vijayan’s head minister here on Tuesday learned to decide to review the methodology used to enforce limitations.
Weekly IPR was calculated by multiplying Covid-19 infection which was reported in a week with 1,000 and divided it with a population of Panchayat or urban ward.
Any Panchayat / Ward with a weekly IPR more than five will require special attention and moderate restrictions while there will be a total locking if the number is more than 10.
Based on data last week, there are 181 local government institutions in the state that need moderate restrictions and eight LSG guarantees Total locking.
The meeting was also studied to redefine the micro detention zone as an area that could be lower than the local body ward area where the potential spread of Covid was high due to the grouping of positive cases.
It can be in the form of roads, markets, ports, shopping centers, residential areas, MSME units, offices, apartment complexes, family homes along with more than 10 members, warehouses, workshops and auction centers.
Each micro area with more than five positive cases on certain days in a certain location will be defined as a cluster.
While telling the way (every 100 m) as a micro detention zone, a business unit and residence on both sides of the road will be made part of the detention without limiting it to one side of the road.
This area will remain a micro detention zone for seven days after being stated by the District Disaster Management Authority.
The meeting was also studied to decide to impose total locking throughout the state on Sunday, leaving all other days for shops and commercial companies to function except shopping centers and theaters.
While the upcoming week (August 8) will be a total locking day, there will be no locking on August 15 and 22 considering the day of independence and Onam.
However, there is no public function or meeting that will be allowed today, studied.
Although shops and companies will be permitted to function, it will be the responsibility of a business company to ensure that their customers are vaccinated against Covid, have been infected in advance (has developed antibodies) or have a valid RPCR-negative certificate.
For hotels and resorts in the micro detention zone, the police will be asked not to uphold customer restrictions that live in it so that domestic tourism is not affected.
The government has also appointed senior IAS officers for law enforcement, detention and related activities in all districts.
They are Saurabh Jain (Kasargod), Biju Prabhakar (Kannur), Rajesh Kumar Sinha (Wayanad), Sanjape Kaul (Kozhikode), Anand Singh (Malappuram), K BIJU (Palackad), APM Mohammed Hanish (Thrissur), Kr Jyothilal (Ernakulam )), Raju Narayanashamy (Idukki), PM Ali Asgar Pasha (Kottayam), Sharmila Mary Joseph (alappuzha), Rani George (Pathanamthitta), Tintu Biswal (Kollam) and Mini Antony (Thiruvananthapuram).
