Kerala Govt will consider reopening the school gradually: Minister

Thiruvananthapuram: The Kerala Government will consider to reopen the school gradually after the complete vaccination of children in the state but subject to the agreement of the Government of the Government and the Covid-19 experts concerned, said Minister of Education General V Sivankutty on Monday.
Sivankutty said the digital and online class is not a permanent solution and reopening of schools can be considered after vaccinating children in the state.
“We have seen reports of schools that are reopened in other states.
We need to provide a vaccine to children first and there are various protocols from the United States and the state government to be followed in this matter,” Sivakutty told the Assembly.

“This program ensures the mental health and welfare of children in the state.
We also focus on ensuring parents’ participation in all these initiatives.

He also said that a tele counseling program entitled ‘Athijeevanam’ was being held by utilizing government doctor’s expertise.
“Our society has followed a routine where research is given more important than children.
However, now we need to give importance to children than their studies.

He said the state government plans to regulate massive campaigns about children’s mental health and cybersecurity by coordinating with various institutions.
