Kochi: Disappointed by continuing the ‘Nokkukoolol’ instance or Gawking goal, Kerala High Court on Thursday said the incident gave the reputation state “militant trade union” which prevented investors come here and therefore, such practices must be eradicated.
The court said no longer wanted to hear the term Nokkukoololi in the state and directed the police to take action against anyone, regardless of the party affiliation, which demanded a gawking wage as “illegal and violating law”.
Observation and direction by Justice Devan Ramachandran came during the hearing of the applicant for the hotel owner for police protection to carry out his business without intervention from several people suspected of demanding gawking wages.
Observing that the state “has a reputation for militant trade unions”, the court said the situation must change to make Kerala-friendly investors.
The court also said that violence is not a solution or drug for job rejection and every work worker rejected work, must approach the labor board for relief.
It also confirms that incidents such as the demand for ‘nokku-kooli’ by parts of people to allow trucks of Indian space research organizations into the Vikram Sarabhai Space Center facility in Thumba in Thiruvananthapuram is a source of shame and embarrassing for the country.
The previous court also said that the state government wants to attract business, it must stop the union from extortion.
“This practice was banned many years ago.
But it was not fully implemented.
The government must take hard action against those who demand nokku-kololi,” said the court.
On May 1, 2018, the government prohibits the practice.
