KOCHI: The Kerala High Court on Tuesday stayed an order of their Lakshadweep island management, guiding the Assistant Public Prosecutor (APP) to attend impending legal functions of different government branches, rather than submitting them in the courts . The large court granted the stay on a PIL from Mohammed Saleem, demanding the directive of an Additional District Magistrate from Lakshadweep into the APP submitted in Andrott and Amini temples to attend the lawful functions of many sections, such as planning of chargesheet to assist the authorities. The petitioner alleged that the purchase was a rampant misuse of power and a complete collapse of the Justice delivery program especially in the Criminal Justice System of Lakshadweep. That is even more exasperating when it’s discovered that the respondent hasn’t cared to make certain an suitable person has been made from the place of Assistant Public Prosecutor in the Court of Amini Island at the interregnum, the petitioner stated. Justice Vinod Chandran, who’s the judge-in-charge of this island judicial government, sought the opinion of this sub-judge from the islands about the subject. A division bench comprising justices Vinod Chandran and M R Anitha reported the sub-judge has advised that prosecutors were deputed to the island at Kavaratti to the last two weeks and there haven’t been any instances posted for trial following the remainder of those courts. Recording the opinions expressed from the sub-judge, the high court remained the government’s order.
