KOCHI: The Kerala High Court on Monday asked the Centre the vaccines aren’t supplied for free from the taxpayers.

Justice Vinod Chandran made this observation after his colleague justice Devan Ramachandran on May 7 had taken this issue up suo-motu regarding vaccination.

The court pointed out that although it could cost Rs 34,000 crore, the Centre has it Rs 54,000 crore by means of dividend by the Reserve Bank of India.

The court highlighted that this wasn’t the opportunity to check to issues of federalism.

On the other hand, the counselor for the Centre pointed out since being a coverage issue, he wants a while and the Court consented to this and submitted the case for a different day.
