Thiruvananthapuram: LDF, in his meeting was held here on Tuesday, has made a ‘in principal’ decision for hiking bus rates in the state.

The operator has demanded a minimum increase from RS 8 to RS 12.

Also, the maximum travel distance at the minimum rate is cut to 2.5 km from 5 km.
Diesel prices are Rs 72 per liter when the last tariff revisions are introduced.
Now it’s close to Rs 100.
The daily fee for running bus services has increased at least by Rs 2,500, claiming the operator.
Meanwhile, most bus operators also called for the reduction of state taxes on diesel consumed by personal buses as a lasting solution for the developing crisis.
