Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala on Thursday recorded 2,423 new Covid-19 infections and 164 deaths, which took Caseload to 52.32,672 and deaths became 47,441 to date.
Of the 164 deaths, 15 were recorded over the past few days and 149 was appointed as Covid-19 deaths after receiving an appeal based on the new central guidelines and the direction of the Supreme Court.
With 2,879 people recovered from the virus since Wednesday, the total recovery reached 51.76,535 and active cases fell to 19,835, the official press release said.
58,459 samples were tested in the last 24 hours.
Among the 14 districts, Ernakulam recorded the highest by 455 new cases, followed by Thiruvananthapuram (416) and Kozhikode (266).
From new cases, 26 are health workers, 27 from outside the country and 2,262 infected through contact, with the source is unclear to 108.
At present there are 1,10,680 people under supervision in various districts, including 1.07,074 in Quarantine home or institutional and 3,606 in the hospital, the release said.
