Thiruvananthapuram: After reporting less than 2,000 fresh Covid-19 cases over the past two days, Kerala recorded 2,474 new infections on Tuesday, which took Caseload until the 52.27.403 to date.
Also, the country reported 244 deaths, which raised the victim to 47,066 so far, the official press release said.
Of 244 deaths, 38 were recorded over the past few days and 206 were designated as Covid-19 deaths after receiving an appeal based on the new central guidelines and the direction of the Supreme Court.
With 3,052 more people recovered from viruses since Monday, total recovery reached 51.71,080 and active cases fell to 20,400, the release said.
60,597 samples were tested in the last 24 hours.
Among the 14 districts, Ernakulam recorded the highest with 419 new cases, followed by Thiruvananthapuram (405) and Kozhikode (273).
From new cases, 27 are health workers, 24 from outside the country and 2.302 were infected through contact with the source unclear at 121.
At present there are 1,16,378 people under supervision in various districts, including 1,12,641 in the quarantine of the house or Institutional and 3,737 in hospitals, the release said.
