Kochi: Kerala recorded 3,471 new positive cases and 22 related deaths on Friday, took the total affected in the country to 51,99,468 and the death toll became 44,189.
The State Health Department tested 54,715 samples in the last 24 hours and there were six wards at five local government agencies with a weekly infection population ratio above ten percent.
Among the districts, Ernakulam recorded the current number of fresh cases of the highest – 680, followed by Kozhikode with 354 cases and thrissur 263.
Along with 22 deaths, the victims currently also added 221 deaths, which were reported for the past few days and also determined as deaths Covid-19 after receiving an appeal based on the new central guidelines and the direction of the Supreme Court, said the department’s release.
