Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala continues to report less than 2,000 fresh Covid-19 cases for the second day running with a country that recorded 1,636 new infections on Monday, which took Kaseeload until 52,24,929 to date.
Also, the country reported 236 deaths, which raised the toll to 46,822 so far, the official press release said.
Of the 236 deaths, 23 recorded over the past few days and 213 was appointed as Covid-19 deaths after receiving an appeal based on the central guidelines and the direction of the Supreme Court.
With 2,864 more people recovered from viruses since Sunday, total recovery reached 51.68,028 and active cases fell to 21,224, the release said.
42,149 samples were tested in the last 24 hours.
Among the 14 districts, Thiruvananthapuram recorded the highest with 344 new cases, Kozhikode (233) and Ernakulam (190).
From new cases, 15 are health workers, 51 from outside the country and 1,484 were infected through contact with the source unclear at 86.
At present there are 1,19,025 people under supervision in various districts, including 1,15,182 in the quarantine of the house or Institutional and 3,843 in the hospital, the release said.
