Kerala Logs 2,434 New Covid-19 Case, 203 Death

Thiruvananthapuram: Covid fresh cases fell below 3,000 in Kerala on Monday when the country reported 2,434 new infections and 203 deaths, which took cooperatives to 51.85.210 and tolls to 43,170.
Of the 203 deaths, 38 were recorded over the past few days and 165 were designated as Covid-19 deaths after receiving an appeal based on the new central guidelines and the direction of the Supreme Court, said the release of the state government.
With 4,308 more people recovered from viruses since Sunday, the total recovery reached 51.16,928 and the active case fell to 36,281, he said.
As many as 50,446 samples were tested in the last 24 hours.
Among the 14 districts, Ernakulam recorded the highest with 525 new cases, followed by Thiruvananthapuram (428) and Kozhikode (315).
From new cases, 17 are health workers, 6 from outside the country and 2,266 were infected through contact with the source unclear in 145.
There are currently 1,60,033 people under supervision in various districts, including 1,55,720 in the quarantine of the house or Institutional and 4,313 in hospitals, said the release.
