Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala on Wednesday recorded 2,846 new Covid-19 infections and 211 deaths, which took cooperatives to 52.30249 and deaths were 47,277 to date.
Of 211 deaths, 12 were recorded over the past few days and 199 which was designated as Covid-19 deaths after receiving an appeal based on the new central guidelines and the direction of the Supreme Court.
With 2,576 more people recovered from viruses since Tuesday, total recovery reached 51.73,656 and active cases fell to 20,456, the release said.
A total of 69,852 samples were tested in the last 24 hours.
Among the 14 districts, Ernakulam recorded the highest with 526 new cases, followed by Thiruvananthapuram (507) and Kozhikode (348).
From new cases, 27 are health workers, 20 from outside the country and 2,678 were infected through contact with the source unclear at 121.
At present there are 1,12,284 people under supervision in various districts, including 1,08,593 in the house quarantine or Institutional and 3,691 in the hospital, said the broadcast.
