Kerala recorded 30,000-plus fresh Covid-19 cases for the second day of running, taking the Indian daily count to more than 44,500 on Thursday.
India reported 44,510 cases of fresh viruses, with Kerala alone contributing 30,007 new infections.
The country has recorded 31,445 cases on Wednesday, making it the first situation in almost three months (since May 29) registering more than 30,000 fresh infections in a day.
Indian daily counts from Covid cases have crossed 46,000 on Wednesday.
With the number of cases that exploded after Sunday Onam, Kerala reported the test level of test (TPR) from more than 18% on Thursday.
TPR in the state has continued to increase, indicating that infections are still increasing.
Meanwhile, Maharashtra recorded more than 5,000 new cases for the second day in a row.
The country recorded 5.108 fresh covid infection on Thursday, a little from the previous day’s calculation of 5,031.
Before Wednesday, the count of Maharashtra daily cases remained under 5,000 for five days.
Apart from the visible waves, everyday numbers in the state remain lower than the appropriate days of the previous week.
Andhra Pradesh and Bengal also witnessed a surge in small infections since Wednesday.
Andhra Pradesh reported 1,539 cases on Thursday and 1.601 on Wednesday, both numbers slightly higher than last week’s peak of 1,501.
Bengal was recorded 717 and 708 in the last two days.
These numbers, however, are lower than the peak of the previous week.
India recorded 486 deaths from the virus on Thursday, down from the victim 603 the previous day which was surprising from 603.
Kerala reported 162 deaths, Maharashtra 159, Odisha 66, Tamil Nadu 26 and Karnataka 25.
