Kerala Logs 50,812 Cover Covid-19 New, 8 Death

Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala recorded 50,812 new infections and eight deaths related to Covid-19 on Saturday, took the number of infections to 59,31,945 and the death toll became 53,191.
According to the Ministry of Health, 47,649 people were restored from this disease, pushing a total of recovery up to 55.41,834.
The state has tested 1,10,970 samples in the last 24 hours and there are 3.36,202 Covid-19 cases active in the state, the department said.
Yesterday, the country reported 54,537 cases of Covid-19 while it was 51,739 on Thursday.
On January 25, Kerala has registered 55,475 cases, a single single surge in the highest infection since the Pandemic outbreak in 2020.
Among the district, Ernakulam recorded the highest number of cases on Saturday – 11,103, followed by Thiruvananthapuram with 6,647.
and Kozhikode 4,490.
Among the latest fatality, eight reported in the last 24 hours, 94 was recorded over the past few days, while 311 was appointed as Covid-19 death after receiving an appeal based on the central guidelines and the direction of the Supreme Court.
“At present, there are 3.36,202 active Covid-10 cases in Kerala which are only 3.4 percent hospitalized,” said the department in the release.
Of those found infected on Saturday, 208 reached the country from outside the interim 46,451 contracted disease through their contacts.
The source of the 3.751 infection has not been traced and 402 health workers are also infected.
There were 4,98,406 people undergoing observations where 11,658 were on the isolation route from various hospitals throughout the state.
