Thiruvananthapuram: The Meteorology Department on Saturday issued a red warning on July 11 for Kannur and Kasaragod Regency in Kerala predicts very heavy rainfall.
The Indian Meteorology Department (IMD) has also issued an orange warning on Sundays for Wayanad, Kozhikode and Malappuram districts and Yellow Warning for Palakkad, Thrissur, Idukki and Ernakulam Regency.
Meanwhile, orange warning for Saturday was issued for the Kottayam District, Idukki, Malappuram, Kozhikode and Kannur and the Yellow Warning was sounded for the Thiruvananthapuram district, Kollam, Pathanamthitta.
According to the IMD website, Kottayam received 15 cms of rain until 10 am on Saturday while the Thiruvananthapuram district received 1.7 cm rainfall and Ernakulam received 10.7 cm.
“Strong winds at a speed of 40-50kmph begused to 60 kmpj, it is likely and from Kerala Beach.

The red warning shows heavy rain with heavy rain more than 20 cm in 24 hours, while orange warnings means that rain is very heavy than rain 6 cm to 20 cm.
The yellow warning means heavy rainfall between 6 to 11 cm.
