Thiruvananthapuram: Governor Arif Mohammed Khan said that the Ordonance of Lok Ayankta Act (Amandment) did not have something illegal in it so as to hold back.
Responding to criticism, Khan said that the governor was constitutionally bound to act according to the cabinet recommendations.
He said that he only issued his duties by announcing regulations and decisions taken by the elected government.
The governor’s reaction came after the government’s decision to change actions had been widely criticized.
Amendments have made the body of a helpless body whose order under section 14 actions will then only be recommended in nature.
Opposition, including BJP, said that the governor should not sign the procedure.
The State President of BJP K Surendran said that the governor should have returned such ordinances without signing it, and the party would combat regulations legally and politically.
After holding a two-week file without any action, Khan has signed an ordinance to propose Amendments Kerra Lok Ayukta, 1999, who has now made an agency order not binding the government.
With these regulations, all the verdicts in the future Lok Ayukta are spoken below section 14 of the law, has become irrelevant because it has become the government’s choice whether it does not comply with the verdict or not.
It was under this section that the agency had uttered its decision on the former Minister of Higher Education KT Jalael, which was based on which he had to leave the minister, and then be enforced by the High Court.
Ordonance was sent to the governor for his approval on January 24.
However, after Pinarayi Vijayan’s minister met the governor and explained the position of the government, the governor agreed to sign the regulation.
