ThiruvananThapuram: UDF’s opposition on Thursday boycotted the assembly process and conducted an artificial session outside the assembly complex in protest against the rejection of permits for customs notifications with a statement against the chairman of Pinarayi Vijayan’s minister and former speaker Preeramakrishnan.
Speaker M B Rajesh denied permission for the delay movement which quoted that the problem was the sub-anim.
P Thomas MLA has served a notification that is looking for a delay movement to be answered by the minister’s chairman, but the speaker decides that it is a sub-judicial problem that cannot be discussed at home according to the rules of the legislature.
Minister of Law P said as per rule 52 (7) assembly regulations, whatever under the consideration of the trial court, or other court, cannot be discussed at home.
Customs notifications issued based on the leader of the Swapna statement v D Sathean quoted several examples in the past when the house discussed the subjects delayed in court.
This includes using vigilance to political rivals (on December 11, 2012), the High Court criticized the Advocate General Office (July 24 2015), Case Palmolein (February 24, 2016), Problems of Financing Self (August 22, 2017), The Sabarimala Decision (November 28, 2018 ) And Kodakara Pipe Money Case (July 26, 2021).
“Discussing this issue on the floor of the Assembly is an opportunity for the head of the minister to claim his innocence,” he said.
Rajeeve said the rules could not be overcome prioritized, where the opposition leader ended that the Minister of Law quoted the rules according to his convenience.
However, based on the refusal of the Minister of Law, the speaker decided that the notification that wanted to go for the delay movement was unacceptable, and moved to another business scheduled for that day.
The opposition shouted the slogan in the house, and then made an artificial assembly and discussion of the delay movement outside the main gate of the Assembly.
Thomas raised this problem in an artificial assembly while N Shamsuddin took the role of the speaker.
They also raised the slogan that demanded the resignation of the minister’s chairman.
Customs notifications are reportedly issued on the basis of the statement reported by Swapna Suresh, the key accused of smuggling of gold and dollars, that Vijayan and Sreeramakrishnan were involved in smuggling foreign currency to the UAE through consulates.
