Thiruvananthapuram: The state government has set an ambitious plan to build 42 international standard elementary schools at the end of the next academic year.
This will be achieved by increasing facilities in certain schools, the Minister of Public Education V Sivankutty said here on Friday.
He inaugurated the PTA Empowerment Program at the Government HSLPS and Thycaud nursery school.
The Ministry of Public Education has reached the target of building a model of nursery schools in all districts as part of the ‘Thalolam’ program by Samagra Shiksha.
“Efforts will be made to increase the standard of 28 more schools to the international level.
Apart from Samagra Shikha’s funds, the contribution of the local body where the school is also must be used to reach the target,” he said.
Enhanced primary schools will have an angle and toy activity for physical health and mental children.
‘Thalolam’ was launched during the government of the first Pinarayi Vijayan government with the aim of bringing quality in elementary school education.
In the government model school, space for elementary school students has been divided into seven.
In each dedicated angle, children can have acting, music, drawing, reading, mathematics and science.
