ThiruvananThapuram: In the midst of criticism of the state government’s decision to do a plus one exam in offline mode, in the thick pandemic of Covid-19, the Department of Public Education has been on Tuesday revising the inspection schedule to ensure more gaps between examinations.
Higher secondary secondary examinations and vocational will begin in September 6 and 7 respectively, as planned, but the two examinations will be more than September 27, not September 16 according to the previous schedule.

Statement from the Office of the Minister of Public Education V Sivan Kutty said the schedule was stretched after the minister’s specific instructions so that students would have more time to prepare themselves before each check.
“The Minister intervenes and instructs to change schedules based on the demands submitted by students and teachers,” said the statement.
With a revised schedule, students will get a gap two to three days between the exam.
Students will get multiple choice questions so they can answer according to their convenience.
Examination for a score of 80 will have questions worth 120 score.
Students can choose questions about their favorite.
They can even attend more questions than specified numbers.
In such cases, only the answer that gets a better score will be considered during the tabulation.
All questions are only from the focus area published by Scerter.
Because of the number of double questions, students will get 20 minutes as a quiet time.
