Thiruvananthapuram: National Federation of Indian Women Secretary General and the leader of the CPI Annie Raja on Wednesday blamed the police for cruelty incidents on women in Kerala.
He told reporters in New Delhi that it must be suspected that the pro-RSS group functions in the police who work against state government policies stated.

The CPI leader said there must be a separate department in the state for women’s safety and security with independent ministers responsible.
The arrangement of one of the ministers who handles the department of women and children the development of children along with other departments will not be sufficient, he said.
Annie said that he would write to the Minister of Main and LDF comfort to ensure the handling of the new department.
The government must also provide appropriate legal awareness to the police to ensure that women’s rights facing cruelty in their families are protected.

The LDF government has, in its last term, establishing a women’s and child development department as promised in the 2016 election manifesto.
The department is carved from the Ministry of Justice.
Former Health Minister K K Shylaja is responsible for the department besides the Department of Social Justice.
The Minister of Health Vena George is responsible for the women’s and child development department now.
