Thiruvananthapuram: With harassment related to dowry a problem after the recent vismaya death, indigenous Kollam residents, state police have started a conscious campaign program titled “Say No to Fiewer”.
The National Police Chief of Anil Kant launched an initiative at the police headquarters here, by launching a poster for this program.
He said that all district police chiefs had been asked to take immediate action on all petitions relating to cruelty towards women, including domestic violence.
Police will also hold vehicle promotion and slogan contests in all districts in collaboration with social committed organizations.
The police chief also directed that all petitions on cruelty towards women must be handled by the station’s house officers themselves, and must be processed in a timely manner.
However, the initial response from the public for the police campaign on the police’s social media accounts generally opposed government officials.
Some answered said that all government officials had to implement this in their lives to start before trying to educate the public, and some said that to start, it must be implemented in the police.
