Thiruvananthapuram: The number of new Covid-19 cases and the test level of the test (TPR) continues to be on the higher side of the state.
The state on Sunday reported 17,466 new cases with TPR 12.3% when 1,42,008 samples were tested.
Meanwhile, 66 recently confirmed deaths as caused by Covid, took associated victims in the 1570 state.
At the same time, 15,247 patients had recovered from the disease.
Among new cases, 16,662 people have been infected through local deployment.
The contact source of infection cannot be traced to 662.
There are 64 health professionals among those infected and 78 people who have been tested positively have arrived from outside the country.
Malappuram reported the highest number of cases – 2,684, followed by Kozhikode (2,379), Thrissur (2,190), Ernakulam (1,687), Palakkad (1,263), Kollam (1,263), Thiruvananthapuram (914), Kannur (884)), Kottayam (833) , Kasaragod (644), Pathanamthitta (478), Wayanad (383), and Idukki (353).
As far as 31.14,716 people have recovered from Coronavirus infection in the country while 1,40,276 patients are still undergoing treatment.
As many as 2,62,48,280 samples have been sent for testing until now.
4,35,768 people are currently observing throughout the state, where 4,09,540 are in their homes or institutional quarantine centers and 26,228 in isolation in hospitals.
There are 73 local bodies with TPR below 5%, 335 local bodies with TPR between 5% and 10%, 355 local bodies with TPR between 10% and 15% and 271 local bodies with TPR above 15% above the country.
