Thiruvananthapuram: In a big step to ensure transparency in the sale of liquor, the government has decided to write label-e with a QR code on liquor bottles sold in the state.
This step aims to reduce the illegal sale of liquor because the QR code will help the authorities to easily scan and track the origin, the point of sale and authenticity of liquor bottles.
The order in this case was issued by the tax department last Tuesday.
In accordance with the rules of 26 of the rules of foreign liquor, in 1953, mandatory to hatch the security label for bottle of liquor sold in the state.
At present, the security label is manually repaired in Kerala Warehouse Kerala Beverage Corporation.
The IMFL bottle, which is stored in the warehouse, was taken only after affixing the security label issued by the Excise Ministry and verified by excise officials posted in each warehouse.
