THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: he state reported 14,672 Covid-positive cases and recorded 227 deaths, the highest number in a day, on Sunday.
Presently, the total active cases are 1,60,653 and the test positivity rate (TPR) is at 14.27%.
In the last 24 hours 1,02,792 samples were tested.
At the same time, 21,429 patients have recovered from the disease.
The total death toll in the state has become 9,947.
Among the new cases, 13,638 cases have been infected through local spread.
The contact source of infection was not traceable for 814.
There are 67 healthcare professionals among those infected, and153 people have arrived from outside the state.
Thiruvananthapuram with 2,126 reported the highest number of cases, followed by Ernakulam (1,807), Malappuram (1,687), Kollam (1,648), Palakkad (1,494), Thrissur (1,417), Alappuzha (925), Kozhikode (960), Kannur (640), Kottayam (499), Pathanamthitta (359), Kasaragod (423), Idukki (489) and Wayanad (198).
The number of patients who tested negative are Thiruvananthapuram (2,304), Kollam (1,317), Pathanamthitta (923), Alappuzha (2,041), Kottayam (989), Idukki (714), Ernakulam (1,936), Thrissur (1,472), Palakkad (1,147), Malappuram (5,087), Kozhikode (1,806), Wayanad (302), Kannur (857) and Kasaragod (534).
There are 6,54,698 persons under observation in the state, of whom 6,19,467 are at their homes or institutional quarantine centres and 35,231 are at hospitals.
There are currently 891 hotspots in the state.
