Thiruvananthapuram: After the threat of omicron in Kerala, the Covid review meeting held in the capital on Monday did not make decisions about restarting classes in a full way in all state schools.
The Chairman of Pinarayi Vijayan’s Minister urged everyone at the meeting to find out whether there was a cluster formed because of the Omicron case in the state.
He said that the genome sequencing was very important for everyone who came into contact with someone who had been tested positively for the Omicron variant.
In the positive case reported from Ernakulam on Sunday, 36 people were identified in the contact list.
All 36 people are stored under isolation.
The minister’s chairman also shows that the vaccination process rate has dropped in Palakkad, Malappuram and Kozhikode.
He urged each district collector to take effective steps to speed up the vaccination drive.
About 70 lakh people have not taken their second dose from the vaccine and hence the steps must be taken to resolve this problem, he added.
Meanwhile, it has been decided that only 300 people will be permitted at public meetings, cultural events and festivals.
If these events are arranged in the hall, the maximum number of participants will be limited to 150.
For the wedding ceremony, the maximum number of guests allowed in the venue will be 200.
For cremation and rituals related to death, only 200 people will be permitted.
