Kochi: Kerala on Thursday reported more than 10,000 fresh Covid-19 cases for the second day running with a country that entered 13,468 new infections that raised Kaseload to 53.17.490.
The southern state has reported 12,742 cases a day ago.
Kerala on Thursday also reported 117 deaths that raised the total deaths in the state to 50,369, according to government liberation.
From death, 21 was recorded over the past few days and 96 were determined as Covid-19 deaths after receiving an appeal based on the new central guidelines and the direction of the Supreme Court.
With 3,252 more people recovered from viruses since Wednesday, total recovery reached 52.11.014.
However, because the number of recovery was far less than the new Covid-19 case, the active case rose to 64,529, the release said.
A total of 66,796 samples were tested in the last 24 hours.
Among the 14 districts, Thiruvananthapuram recorded highs with 3,404 new cases followed by Ernakulam (2,394), Kozhikode (1,274), Thrissur (1,067) and Kottayam (913).
From new cases, 104 were health workers, 120 from outside the country and 12,553 were infected through contact with the source unclear at 691, the release said.
At present there are 1,57,292 people under supervision in various districts, including 1,53,994 in the house or institutional quarantine and 3,298 in the hospital, the release said.
