Kochi: Kerala on Friday reported 13,834 new Covid-19 cases and 95 deaths, taking infection counted to 46,94,719 and the death toll became 25,182.
The Minister of Health Veena George said there were 1,42,499 active Covid-19 cases which were only 11.5 percent of patients treated in hospitals.
In the release, the minister said 1,05,368 samples were tested in the last 24 hours and there were 745 wards in 368 local self-governmental bodies where the test level of the test was above ten percent.
Among the regencies, Thrissur reported the number of fresh Covid-19 cases on Friday – 1,823, followed by Ernakulam 1,812 and Thiruvananthapuram 1,464.
“From those who were found infected today, 74 reached the country from the interim of 13,138 contracted disease from their contacts.
The source of infection 552 has not been traced and 70 health workers also among those infected,” Minister said in the release).
Meanwhile, 13,767 people were restored from disease on Friday, taking a total of recovery in the country to 45.26,429.
At present, there are 4,40,194 people in observations that are 17,976 in the path of isolation from various hospitals.
