Thiruvananthapuram: On Friday, the country reported 17,518 new Covid-19 cases from 1.28,489 sample tests in the last day with TPR 13.63%.
Meanwhile, 132 recently confirmed deaths as caused by Covid, took the death toll in the country to 15,872.
At the same time, 11,067 patients had recovered from this disease.
Among new cases, 16,638 cases have been infected through local transmission.
Infection contact sources cannot be traced to 700.
There are 70 health care professionals among those infected and 110 people have arrived from outside the country.
Malappuram reported the highest number of cases with 2,871, followed by Thrissur (2,023), Kozhikode (1,870), Ernakulamp (1,832), Kollam (1,455), Palakkad (1,455), Kannur (1,053), Thiruvananthapuram (996)), Alappuzha (901) , Kasaragod (793), Pathanamthitta (446), Wayanad (363) and Idukki (226).
So far, 30,83,962 people have recovered from Koronavirus infection in the state, even 1.35,198 patients are still undergoing treatment for the same thing.
As many as 2.59,50,704 samples have been sent for testing until now.
The people infected through local contacts are malappuram (2,786), thrissur (1,996), cozhikode (1,842), Ernakulam (1,798), Kollam (1,016), Palackad (1,014), Kannur (1,013), Thiruvananthapuram (1,013), Thiruvananthapuram (911), Alappuzha (894), Kasaragod (774), Pathanamthitta (433), Wayanad (353) and Idukki (221).
There are 4,18,496 people currently observing in various countries, where 3,92,805 are at home or institutional quarantine center, and 25,691 in isolation in hospitals.
