Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala continues to register up in its daily Covid-19 infection, registering 17,755 new cases on Saturday, taking the calculation to 53.51,583, the state health department said.
Kerala also reported 106 deaths, encouraging deaths to 50,674, according to government release.
“At present, there are 90,649 cases of Covid-19 active in the state which is only four percent of patients being hospitalized,” said his broadcast.
Meanwhile 3,819 people were restored from the current disease, taking a total of heals up to 52.18,681.
The state has reported 16,338 new infections yesterday.
Among the current deaths, 17 were recorded over the past few days and 89 were appointed as Covid-19 deaths after receiving an appeal based on the new central guidelines and the direction of the Supreme Court.
State Capital Thiruvananthapuram reported the number of new cases – 4,694, followed by Ernakulam with 2,637 and thrissur 1,731.
The state has tested 65,937 samples in the last 24 hours.
From those found infected today, 150 reached the country from outside, while 16,488 contracted disease from their contacts.
The 964 source of infection has not been traced and 153 health workers also among those infected, the word liberation.
The Ministry of Health said that 99.68 percent (2,66,24042) of the targeted population of the state had received the first dose of vaccines while 82.27 percent (2,19,73,681) received the dose.
