Kerala reported 19,352 Covid-19 cases, 143 deaths

Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala sees swimming in the case of fresh Covid-19 on Saturday with a country that reported 19,352 infections, and 143 deaths, took the total affected in the country to 44.88,840 and tolls to 23,439.
The state has reported 23,260 cases on Friday.
The amount of recovery exceeds the number of new cases with 27,266 healed, taking the total amount to 42.83,963.
Among the districts, Ernakulam reported the highest number of cases – 2,626, followed by Thrissur with 2,329 and Kozhikode with 2,188, said Health Minister Veena George.
“From those who were found infected today, 96 reached the country from outside, while 18,114 contracted disease from their contacts.
The source of the infection of 1,038 has not been traced.
77 health workers are also infected,” Minister.

The active case reached 1,80,842, where 13.2 percent were in the hospital, he said, but did not provide a test level of tests.
A total of 1,21,070 samples were tested in the last 24 hours.
The minister said 88.94 percent of the targeted population had received the first dose of vaccination and 36.67 percent, both doses.
There were 2,507 wards in 678 local government agencies in the state with a weekly infection population ratio above eight percent, he said.
