Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala continues to record a steep increase in the Covid-19 case with 45,136 new positive cases reported on Saturday, taking the calculation to 55.74.702.
Kerala has been on Friday noted 41,668 cases of fresh coronavirus, the day after registering 46,387 cases on Thursday, a one-day surge in the highest since the Pandemic outbreak in 2020.
The Ministry of Health said the state had tested 1,00735 samples in the last 24 hours in the last 24 hours and there were 2.47 .227 Covid-19 case active in Kerala.
Meanwhile, 21,324 people were restored from the disease on Saturday, taking a total of recovery up to 52,97,971.
Kerala registered 132 deaths today, took the dead to 51,739.
Among the current deaths, 70 was recorded over the past few days while 62 was appointed as Covid-19 deaths after receiving an appeal based on the central guidelines and the direction of the Supreme Court.
“Of the total active cases, only three percent of patients were hospitalized,” said the Ministry of Health in the release.
Among the districts, Ernakulam reported the highest number of new infections on Saturday – 8,143, followed by Thiruvananthapuram with 7,430 and thrissur 5,120.
There were 3,85,516 people in observations which were 8,430 in the path of isolation from various hospitals.
Among those found infected today, the Ministry of Health said 128 reached the country from outside the interim 42,340 contracted disease from their contacts.
The source of 2.225 infection has not been traced and 443 health workers also among those infected.
