Kochi: Kerala recorded 5,516 fresh coronavirus infections and 210 deaths on Tuesday thus increasing Caseload to 50.71.135 and the Falatical Toll to 36,087.
With 6,705 more people recovered from viruses since Monday, total recovery touched 49,71,080 and active cases fell to 63,338, the official press release said.
Of the 210 deaths, 39 reported for the past few days and 171 was designated as Covid-19 deaths after receiving an appeal based on the new central guidelines and the direction of the Supreme Court, he said.
A total of 70,576 samples were tested in the last 24 hours.
Among the 14 districts, Thiruvananthapuram recorded the highest with 798 cases followed by Thrissur (732) and Kottayam (624).
From new cases, 50 are health workers, 25 from outside the country and 5,105 were infected through contact with the source it was unclear at 336.
At present there are 2,12,925 people under supervision in various districts, including 2,07,664 in the quarantine of the house or institutional and 5,261 in hospitals.
