Kerala reported 6,546 new Covid-19 cases, 50 deaths

Kochi: Kerala recorded 6,546 new Covid-19 cases and 50 deaths on Saturday, taking infection counted to 50.08,381 and the death toll became 33,515.
“There were 72,876 people who underwent treatment for Covid-19 in a situation of only seven percent hospitalized,” said the Ministry of Health in the release.
The department said 66,486 samples were tested in the last 24 hours and there were 46 wards in the 39 local government agencies where the weekly infection population ratio was above ten percent.
Meanwhile, 6,934 people were restored from this disease, taking a total of recovery up to 49.01,369.
Among the District, Ernakulam reported the current number of freshest infections – 1,037, followed by Thiruvananthapuram with 888 and Kollam 774.
There were 2,40,336 people under observations where 6,409 was in the isolation path of various hospitals.
Of those found infected, 16 reached the country from outside, while 6,041 contracted disease through their contacts.
The source of 448 infection has not been traced and 41 health workers also among those infected.
