Kochi: Kerala on Thursday recorded 8,733 Covid-19 fresh cases, a day after a daily infection had exceeded the 10,000 limit, and 118 deaths that increased cooperatives to 48.79,317 and the death toll until 27,202.
After recording less than 10,000 Covid-19 cases from 14 to 19 October, fresh infections have surged to 11,150 in Kerala on Wednesday.
With 9,855 more recovered from viruses since Wednesday, total recovery touched 47.79,228 and active cases fell to 81,496, the release of the state government.
A total of 86,303 samples were tested in the last 24 hours.
Among the 14 districts, Ernakulam recorded the highest by 1,434 cases, followed by Thiruvananthapuram (1,102) and thrissur (1,031).
Of new cases, 68 are health workers, 31 from outside the country and 8,308 are infected through contact with the source is not clear in 326.
At present there are 2,86,888 people under supervision in various districts, including 2.77,907 in the quarantine of the house or institutions and 8,981 in hospitals.
