Thiruvananthapuram: After increasing protest against protracted locking regulations, especially from the trade community, the government has allowed more relaxation to the functioning of commercial companies.
Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said in New Delhi on Tuesday that in places under the category A, B and C (TPR up to 15%), the store can open until 8pm where they have been opened.
Banks will be permitted to function on all five days a week, except Saturday and Sunday, to the public.
Until now, even though the Bank is open at five days, no bank transactions are permitted to the public on Tuesday and Thursday.
District collectors have been given the power to declare the micro detention zone even in categories A, B or C.
Electronic stores will be permitted to function in more days, said CM.
However, there are no changes in the TPR category.
However, the main minister said that the government understood the feelings of traders but if they changed their style, they would be handled.
He said that the state had not reached a situation where the demand for traders that all stores must be allowed to open all day can be permitted.
“It is a condition that causes current restrictions and each of us has the responsibility to ensure that human life is threatened with extinction because of a pandemic,” he said.
The minister’s chairman added that the Head of the Kozhikode Regency collector and police had been asked to hold a merchant meeting and made them understand the situation, after protest by local traders.
Samastha to hold Protesamastha Kerala Jem Iyyathul Ulama will arrange public protests on Thursday which demands permission to allow more people to pray in the mosque, especially during Friday prayers, by facilitating existing covid restrictions.
Protests will be held before the Secretariat and in front of the Collectorate institutions and local body institutions at 11am on July 15 by complying with Covid guidelines.
President Samastha Syed Mohammed Jiffri Muthukoya Thangal said that Friday prayers (Juma) are important responsibilities and legitimate prayers must have a minimum of 40 people present.
According to the current norm only 15 people are allowed to enter into the mosque.
“We have urged the government to allow permission to do Juma Prarlyers with at least 40 people but there is no positive response,” he said.
He said that mosques had fully complied with locking restrictions when they apply.
“Now, the government makes it easy for the sidewalk in all sectors.
There are hatred among believers because they do not allow the assembly of people in the amount needed for Juma prayers for half an hour during Friday,” said Thangal.
Other Muslim organizations have also caused similar requests.
