Thiruvananthapuram: Save University Campaign Committee (SID) on Wednesday filed a Petition in Information Officer Vishwas Mehta to seek action against the Public Information Officer of the University of Calicut for allegedly opposing his orders issued by him.
The Committee, the Whistleblower group, said the university information officer refused to provide details of the selection process followed by the university for election of candidates to Assistant Professor posts.
University Authority, said the committee, rejected the application on the grounds that the life of the selection panel members would be at risk if the interview score sheet and related documents were given to the applicant.
Bindhu is one of the applicants for the Assistant Professor Post and the selection of CPM leaders A NE Shamsere’s wife from the panel has become a controversy.
Following the rejection by the University to part with these documents, the applicant had approached the main information commission and took profitable orders.
However, the university refused to ligh to her, claiming the campaign committee.
“The university refuses to provide a copy of the document because it will strengthen the allegations that Shamseer’s wife was chosen from the road,” he said.
The previous committee began opposing the selection process because the University entered the Shamseer’s wife’s guide as a subject expert in the selection committee that interviewed it.
