Kerala: The Department of General Education issues Academic Guidelines

Thiruvananthapuram: The Department of General Education has come out with a series of academic guidelines after schools reopened on November 1.
Academic guidelines are ready to overcome the learning gap experienced by all students during the pandemic period held online.
Guidelines say that during the early days, no pressure must be placed in students who return to school after a very long gap.
The first two weeks must be used to assess the situation and therefore the focus is to provide learning support for ongoing online classes.
Schedules for all subjects that must be taken in offline mode must be decided only after the assessment is carried out for the first two weeks.
The aim must bring back all students to school in a gradual way for a certain period of time.
Class sessions must be used to further support digital and online education.
Students must be allowed to enjoy their choice activities during the early days.
Children’s social skills must be encouraged during this time and counseling must also be given.
Library activities and groups must also be encouraged.
Online classes must continue along with offline classes for a while.
The school can decide on their activities and improve the time table according to the facilities available at each school.
The academic schedule for November must be well prepared in advance.
On the basis of this planned schedule implementation and after conducting an assessment, the schedule for December must be prepared.
Free schools to choose a daily class schedule based on safety protocols and based on the number of students can be repaired.
There will be no uniform model for institutions on the front and this school can decide independently what needs to be done.
