So, I decided to learn more, “said Jinsamol TP, a 38-year-old student from a higher secondary equality course.
Along with Jinsamol, her husband Shameer (43) will also write a test.
JINSAMOL and Shameer are among a group of middle-aged pairs that together turn to equality courses to increase their learning level.
Higher secondary equivalent checks will be carried out on Monday by Kerala state literacy missions and there are several couples like that who will expect the best to each other and walk together to the examination room.
Wilson (45) and Silja (38) from Puthenvelikkara and Muhammad Kunju and Muneera were among couples who had managed to attend their studies while attending their parents and their children and even after a day of work.
Old students are often assisted in their studies by their children.
“I can’t write an SSLC inspection because I have to go to work to support my family.
I have four younger siblings.
Now after I finish the class X equivalent course, I’m preparing for a higher secondary exam with my wife Silja.
I want to continue my education after Plus two too, “Wilson said, a fisherman who aspired to become a lawyer.
“Unlike in the past, the husband did not mind pushing their wives to pursue education.
They even joined their wives to study together,” said Deepa James, the Ernakulam literacy mission officer.
Student registration for equality courses this year because officials cannot carry out awareness programs because of a pandemic.
In Ernakulam, as many as 2,433 people wrote exams of their secondary equality courses higher at 19 centers.
Among them, the majority are women, 1,342.
At present, the class is done online that comes as a blessing for many men and women who work to attend classes or watch the recorded versions later after completing their day’s work.
