Thiruvananthapuram: Chairman of Pinarayi Vijayan’s Minister here on Saturday said the Pointonist Test (TPR) remains on the higher side in this country mainly due to the ‘targeted testing’ approach adopted by the government.
“Given the rapid deployment of the disease, the targeted test approach has been adopted.
Those who have symptoms and those who interact carefully with patients are primarily tested as part of this.
Naturally, the level of testing the test will remain high in such a scenario,” said the ministerial head.
TPR on Saturday is 10.76%.
The state reported 114 Covid-19 deaths on Saturday, took the dead to 15,269.
16,148 new people were tested positively.
According to Vijayan, testing has been intensified, and 1,50,108 samples are tested on Saturdays.
Among those who tested positively that day, 62 came from other states, and 15,269 had been infected through local transmission.
The source of infection for 742 people is unknown.
A total of 75 health workers were tested positive for Covid-19 on Saturday.
Break Wise in their district is as follows.
Kannur (23), Kasaragod (14), Thrissur (10), Wayanad (eight), Palakkad (six), Kottayam, Ernakulam, Kozhikode (three each), Thiruvananthapuram, Pathamthitta (one).
As many as 388,634 people are currently in observation.
Of this number, 3.74,822 were under house / institutional quarantine and 24,812 in hospitals.
A total of 2,079 people have been hospitalized on Saturday.
