Kerala Varsity Campus on the ‘Carbon Free’ Line

Written by news2in

Thiruvananthapuram: University of Kerala, Karyavattom Campus, set an example for other universities by launching a new ‘free carbon campus’ project.
This project began as part of the Jeevanam Haritha scheme.
Its mission is to change the reason the university becomes a fully carbon free campus.
This program aims to reduce the carbon content in the atmosphere by not allowing the vehicle to enter the campus.
For this reason, electric buggy cars, electric scooters, and bicycles will be available on campus.
People came to campus, including students and faculties, had to park their vehicles in the room allocated and had to take this electronic vehicle to travel to their respective departments.
This vehicle will be available at the camp entrance itself.
This service will be free of charge.
At present, there is one electric buggy car, two electric scooters and 75 bicycles.
Car Buggy Electric can accommodate 11 passengers at once.
Authorities plan to launch two other electric buggy cars and some bicycles again on the campus page as part of the initiative.
New electric vehicles are purchased using university funds.
They also received donations from remote education alumni.
“The carbon-free campus is for our next generation.
Our mission is to make university pages truly carbon free.” Campus turned into a platform for students to keep themselves happy.
This makes facilities for students to get a better atmosphere to learn.
This is the first stage of the project.
We will include more electric vehicles and bicycles for students, faculties and other people in the next stage, “said S Nazeeb, project coordinator.” Kerala University is an example by promoting this idea.
Air pollution is one of the main problems we face at these points and I am happy to know as an alumnus that this extraordinary initiative was stated by the College I have learned, “said Antony Raju, Minister of Transportation.
