THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The state reported 9,313 Covid-19 positive cases and recorded 221 more deaths on Monday, taking the total death toll to 10,158.
The total active cases at present are 1,47,830.
In the last 24 hours 70,569 samples were tested with a test positivity rate (TPR) of 13.2%.
At the same time, 21,921 patients have recovered from the disease.
Among the new cases, 8,570 have been infected through local spread.
The contact source of infection was not traceable for 645.
There are 46 healthcare professionals among those infected and 52 people have arrived from outside the state.
Thiruvananthapuram reported the highest number of cases — 1,481, followed by Palakkad (1,028), Ernakulam (968), Thrissur (925), Malappuram (908), Kollam (862), Alappuzha (803), Kozhikode (659), Kannur (439), Kottayam (464), Pathanamthitta (199), Kasaragod (215), Idukki (234) and Wayanad (128).
So far 24,83,992 people have recovered from Coronavirus infection in the state as1,47,830 patients are still undergoing treatment.
A total of 2,05,78,167 samples have been sent for testing till now.
A total of 6,32,868 people are presently under observation across the state, of which 5,93,807 are at their homes or institutional quarantine centres and 39,061 are in isolation at hospitals.
No new place has been declared as hotspot and while one place has been excluded.
There are currently 870 hotspots in the state.
