LUCKNOW: King George’s Medical University (KGMU) on Tuesday became the sole institute in the nation to have analyzed the maximum amount of Covid-19 samples from 2020 prior date.
The medical institution’s microbiology department has ran 20 lakh evaluations since February 2020 until June 2021 during RT-PCR testing.
Developed by Prof Amita Jain, the microbiology division was also awarded the creation of an improvement mycology diagnostic and study center, from the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) on Tuesday.
All study below the center linked to fungi particularly around mucormycosis –shameful fungus–an offshoot of all covid-19 is going to be finished beneath microbiology division’s Prof Prashant Gupta.
“The mycology laboratory was there but it had been lacking complex technology.
With it having an ICMR approved full-fledged center, technologies and machines is going to be updated which will allow us examine different areas of ailments and diseases due to it like mucormycosis.
The time required to decode the mechanism of these fungi and study for medication for use, are also faster than ever before,” explained Prof Amita Jain.
“The 20 lakh evaluations of covid-19 that were conducted with the microbiology department as February 2020, were possible due to the personnel, laboratory technicians, scientists and researchers of this division who got infected themselves continued to operate in Godspeed,” explained KGMU spokesperson Prof Sudhir Singh.
